I was around twelve years old the first time I had a gun pointed at my face. A friend and I were walking across a dark parking lot after seeing a movie when two men approached us and demanded we empty our pockets. You’d think two grown men would have something better to do than rob children at gunpoint but, alas, “we live in a society”. The lessons I learned that night have been with me every day since- primarly, the idea that no one is coming to save you so you must “stay ready so you don’t need to get ready”. Of course, as a pre-teen, there was little I could do to change my circumstances at the time but I vowed never to be a victim again (insert Batman meme here). I developed my mindset around self defense and survival by taking classes, reading books, and throwing myself into various “precarious” situations while traveling the world as a photographer. Little did I know, this would all come full circle in the fall of 2013 when two men would try to carjack me at gunpoint. Somehow, I made it out of this all-to-familiar scenerio without a scratch and was able to get home to continue raising my daughter. Without the classes, training, and ever vigilant mindset I’d developed throughout life, I dare say that I wouldn’t be here today.

Atlanta Tacitcal is a brand developed with an ever vigilant attitude in mind. Instead of being victims, we will always emerge victors. This lifestyle is not about becoming some type of action hero or “operator”- Rather, this lifestyle and brand is for those who understand the importance of safety, accountability, community. We seek to empower to developing practical, every day skills like situational awareness, mindfulness, and confidence.
